Driving the power of LiquidIons is the Aerstream electrostatic engine. The core technology creates an electrospray droplet by droplet, teasing them from the bulk liquid at a rate of tens of thousands per second.

The process is surprisingly gentle and allows even delicate biomolecules such as proteins and DNA to be sprayed without denaturing them.

No heat is required and little energy is wasted, making this highly efficient dispersion system

The Aerstream electrostatic engine delivers droplets that have been substantially neutralised of their high charge. Making them more suitable for medical devices and effective as LiquidIons.

LiquidIons

The Aerstream technology delivers partially-charged droplets with many applications. One of their properties is the ability to promote removal of small airborne pollutants from the breathable air. Carried on ambient air currents, LiquidIons capture small particulate matter such as smoke, dust, allergens and pollen, causing them to precipitate out of the air. LiquidIons further suppress any re-emergence of precipitated pollutants.

A separate, yet nonetheless important feature of LiquidIons is their ability to enhance the performance of active ingredients such as insecticides. Bioefficacy trials have shown that there is uplift in active delivery using LiquidIons over competitor delivery systems such as liquid electrical devices (plug-in heater/condensers) and heated mats, both of which produce similar-sized droplets as the Aerstream system, but to much lesser effect.

Our core technology can be seen as comprising of three modules – The electrospray, the power control and the liquid storage modules. By having a modular system it allows the technology to be flexible. Resulting in the optimal product form, and detailed specification, to be created for different applications.
